PNGTubeAR Privacy Policy

Camera & Microphone

The app uses your iPhone's front-facing camera for real-time face tracking and the microphone for voice detection. All processing happens entirely on your device. No images, audio, or face data are transmitted to any server or third party.

Face Data & ARKit

PNGTubeAR uses Apple's ARKit to detect facial expressions in real time via the device's front camera. The app receives ARKit blend shape values (numerical coefficients describing facial movements like a smile or raised eyebrow) which are used solely to switch between user-selected avatar images and to match against expressions the user has captured.

No raw face geometry, depth maps, camera images, or photographs of the user's face are stored, transmitted, or shared. The blend shape values are processed in memory while the app is running and are not persisted, except when the user explicitly captures an expression — in which case the numerical blend shape values (not images of the face) are saved locally on the device as part of that expression's settings, so the app can recognize that expression in the future.

When the user captures an expression, the app also renders and saves a small wireframe snapshot of the face's mesh at that moment as a visual reference for the user when editing the expression later. This snapshot is a simplified line drawing of the face mesh — not a photograph or a textured image of the face — and is stored only on the user's device. It is deleted along with the rest of the expression when the user removes the expression or uninstalls the app.

Face data is never transmitted off the device, never shared with Apple or any third party, never used for advertising, never used to build a user profile, and never used to identify the user. Face data is retained only as long as the user keeps the related expression in the app, and is permanently deleted from the device when the user deletes the expression or uninstalls the app.

Photo Library

The app accesses your photo library only when you choose to import images for your avatar expressions. No images are uploaded or shared.

Data Storage

All app data — characters, expressions, and settings — is stored locally on your device. There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no analytics.

In-App Purchases

PNGTubeAR offers an optional one-time purchase ("PNGTubeAR Pro") that unlocks additional features within the app. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and StoreKit — the app never receives your payment information, billing details, or Apple ID. Only your entitlement (whether you have unlocked Pro) is checked, so the unlocked features remain available on your device. Refunds and purchase history are managed through Apple, not through this app.

Third-Party Services

PNGTubeAR does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app uses Apple's own platform services (ARKit for face tracking and StoreKit for in-app purchases), which do not share data with third parties.

Children's Privacy

PNGTubeAR does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
